STEVE HERON RELEASE “PICTURESQUE” (VIDEO LAUNCH NIGHT AT SNEAKY PETE’S)

Steve Heron release new video for single ‘Picturesque’ with a launch show at Sneaky Pete’s, located in Edinburgh’s Cowgate area. The video for the single is the second collaboration with RJAH Films following their debut single release, ‘Eleanor’ last year.

Picturesque’ is the bands second single following their debut release of “Eleanor” in the Autumn of last year, which received critical acclaim from many e-zines and music journalists alike. The band have been touring and gigging relentlessly over the past 12 months and have built a steady but solid fan base in their native city of Edinburgh, and Scotland.

Since Steve’s taking on most of the playing duties for his debut solo effort in November 2010, he has put together a collection of musicians to compliment his writing and general attitude to making music. In late summer 2011, after all separately attending an Arcade Fire gig and landing on the same musical page at the same time by pure happenstance.

Since late 2011 the band have supported a number of acclaimed acts like Martin Rossiter (Gene) and Crybaby along with highly touted Scottish bands like Bwani Junction, Tango in the Attic, Stanley Odd, The OK Social Club, The 10:04s, Davey Horne and Aberfeldy all over the country. In summer 2012 Steve released an EP to preview a selection of songs that will feature on the next album which the band are working on at the moment. And while everyone is waiting for that, Steve and the band have been splitting their time between boosting their reputation as one of Edinburgh’s best bands, writing and recording new songs and working on various music videos to follow up on the success of our video for the single ‘Eleanor’.

The band’s sound has been likened to bands like The Smiths, Teardrop Explodes, Television, Talking Heads and The Lemonheads among others but sum up their sound as combining Johnny Marr style guitar with melodic bass lines, precision drums and honest lyrics to make music which feels familiar but is very hard to pigeon hole.

In tough times when 99% of everything sounds completely remote from how people are actually feeling, this cuts through like a hot knife through butter. Genuinely moving”  Jon Wilde (The Guardian) – Review of ‘Eleanor’
